The Human Resources Management Fellowship is a 26-week SkillBridge program designed to provide transitioning service members with hands-on, high-level HR management experience in a corporate environment. Participants will gain exposure to all major HR functions—including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits, training, and organizational development—while contributing directly to company growth.Through a structured, phased curriculum, fellows will progress from foundational HR knowledge and onboarding to strategic leadership and independent execution of HR initiatives. Guided by senior HR professionals, participants will develop the skills necessary to transition into senior-level HR roles in the civilian workforce.This program blends practical HR operations, leadership development, and career coaching, ensuring service members leave with both the technical expertise and confidence to succeed in human resources management beyond military service.
Responsibilities & DutiesSupport daily HR operations, including onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance monitoring.Assist with talent acquisition: sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and managing orientation.Develop and implement employee engagement, retention, and training initiatives.Participate in employee relations, including conflict resolution and policy updates.Conduct compensation analysis, salary benchmarking, and performance management support.Lead or support strategic HR projects such as workforce planning, succession planning, or HR process automation.Collect and analyze HR metrics to recommend process improvements.Present findings and process improvement recommendations to leadership.Candidate QualificationsMust be an active-duty service member eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.Background in leadership, administration, or personnel management (military or civilian).Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to adapt to a corporate environment and collaborate across departments.Interest in pursuing a civilian career in Human Resources, Talent Management, or Organizational Development.Program BenefitsDirect mentorship from senior HR leaders.Comprehensive exposure to HR functions and corporate leadership.Opportunity to lead projects with measurable organizational impact.Career coaching and job placement assistance upon program completion.
