Locke Supply Co. offers a comprehensive 12-week, 480-hour Operations Leadership Trainee Program designed to prepare transitioning service members for civilian careers in wholesale distribution, branch operations, logistics, customer service, sales support, and leadership development. Participants receive structured, hands-on training through rotations in our Distribution Center, Cloke Freight logistics operations, Inventory Audit, Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing branches, Commercial Project House, corporate support departments, and regional and executive leadership. Training emphasizes operational accountability, product knowledge, inventory management, commercial operations, and leadership fundamentals. Participants receive supervised instruction, mentorship, weekly performance evaluations, and a final employment - readiness assessment. Successful completion may lead to consideration for full-time employment with Locke Supply Co. based on performance, qualifications, available positions, and business needs.
The Operations Leadership Trainee develops foundational skills required for careers in wholesale distribution and branch operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, customer service, counter sales, purchasing awareness, logistics coordination, commercial project support, and team leadership. Through supervised rotational training, participants learn to navigate company systems; understand product movement from warehouse to customer; support customer inquiries and order processing; observe commercial quoting and project coordination; and develop an understanding of operational performance, safety, accountability and customer relationships. Potential post-program career pathways include Manager in Training, Branch Operations, Counter Sales, Inside Sales, Warehouse/Logistics Coordination, and Commercial Project Support. Placement depends on qualifications, organizational needs, and available employment opportunities.
Applicants must meet applicable DoW SkillBridge and Military Department eligibility requirements and obtain the required command authorization before beginning training. Applicants should demonstrate professionalism, reliability, a willingness to learn, effective communication skills, and an interest in wholesale distribution, business operations, customer service, or leadership development. The program requires participation in scheduled in-person training and supervised departmental rotations. Selection is based on program availability, qualifications, and alignment with potential civilian employment opportunities.

Locke Supply Co. provides the required training, instruction, mentorship, training materials, and scheduled departmental rotations without charging the participating service member.
