The two key areas of focus for the Cybersecurity/Systems Administrator intern includeTechnology and Process Improvement. The intern will work with the Lab Manager to learn real world skills and be part of a team in learning how to categorize systems/networks, identify security controls, implement security controls, audit security controls, and perform continuous monitoring/improvement on the security posture so systems and networks. This internship provides a learning environment rich with resources and experience. From the technology side, LCE’s Internship Program provides qualified applicants the potential to learn about the following technologies: Virtualization (VMWare ESX6i Server), Operating Systems (Linux, Windows 2003/2008), Database Technologies (MS SQL 2005/2008, MySQL), Web development/management (internet Information Server, Apache), Information Security (Industry Standards, DoD Standards, Security+), Networking (Cisco, Endian)
The intern will learn to perform tasking associated with roles such as Systems Administrator, Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), and Cyber Analysts just to name a few. Tasking will include implementation of private clouds , the use of public clouds, installation/configuration/securing of networks/systems/applications, and auditing the security posture of networks/systems/applications using manual and automated tools.
