The Mission Vending Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial vending equipment with a primary focus on USI/Wittern machines, as well as other equipment offered by Mission Vending. This role ensures that machines in the field remain fully operational, clean, stocked, and customer-ready. The technician represents Mission Vending at client sites and plays a critical part in delivering a reliable, professional vending experience across Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and surrounding regions.
Key Responsibilities1. Equipment Installation & RelocationDeliver, install, level, and configure vending machines safely and efficientlyFollow proper lifting, dolly, truck-loading, and liftgate proceduresPerform site evaluations for electrical, spacing, accessibility, and placementRelocate existing machines while preventing damage to equipment and facilitiesComplete installation documentation, including test vends and customer sign-off2. Machine Maintenance & RepairDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issuesReplace or repair vend motors, coils, sensors, control boards, power suppliesService and program coin mechs, bill validators, and cashless payment systemsPerform routine upkeep such as condenser cleaning, alignment checks, and clearing product jamsMaintain inventory of service parts and tools3. Technical DiagnosticsUse multimeters and diagnostic tools to test voltage, continuity, sensors, and power systemsNavigate USI control boards for pricing, diagnostics, error logs, and motor mappingTroubleshoot MDB communication, drop sensor issues, and refrigeration failuresReproduce customer-reported issues and validate repairs with multiple vend tests4. Customer Interaction & ProfessionalismCommunicate clearly and professionally with facility managers and end usersExplain repair findings and machine operation in simple, accurate termsRepresent Mission Vending in a positive and dependable mannerDocument all work performed through detailed service tickets, photos, and notes5.
