ABOUT THE JOB

Serves as Chief of the Management Support Office in the assigned school. Must be knowledgeable about the full range of school management support functions, including comprehensive expertise in civilian personnel, budgeting, manpower, management analysis, and force structure management. This position carries out responsibilities through an extensive understanding of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques, ensuring adequate resources, supplies, and administrative support for the school. The Chief of the Management Support Office plays a vital role in overseeing and coordinating a broad spectrum of management support functions within the assigned school. This role requires a deep understanding of key areas, such as civilian personnel management, budget development and oversight, manpower analysis, and force structure management. The Chief is responsible for ensuring that the school operates efficiently and effectively by applying extensive knowledge of management principles, practices, and methodologies. This includes assessing the school’s resource needs, developing strategies to acquire necessary supplies, and providing robust administrative support. Additionally, the role includes analyzing management processes to identify areas for improvement, facilitating personnel issues, and ensuring proper compliance with regulations and policies. Through effective leadership and strategic planning, the Chief contributes to the overall mission and success of the school by ensuring that adequate resources are allocated and that all management support functions are executed in a timely and efficient manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzing management processes to identify areas for improvement, facilitating personnel issues, and ensuring proper compliance with regulations and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledgeable about the full range of school management support functions.
  • Comprehensive expertise in civilian personnel, budgeting, manpower, management analysis, and force structure management.
  • Deep understanding of key areas such as civilian personnel management, budget development and oversight, manpower analysis, and force structure management.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

You must have 180 days of service or fewer remaining before your date of discharge and have at least 180 continuous days of active service.Obtain approval from your unit commander.Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.Must be willing to be vetted by DoDEA, which includes an additional background/security check.Participants are responsible for their transportation to SkillBridge location.

The SkillBridge internship for the Administrative Officer (AO) role will be available at DoDEA schools where an AO is already assigned. If you are interested in this position and wish to work in a DoDEA school, it is strongly recommended that applicants confirm the availability of an AO position near their current duty station. If you have been approved as a SkillBridge participant through another DoD SkillBridge Official Partner and choose to work at a DoDEA school, approval from DoDEA leadership at the HQs level is needed before participation is allowed in the program.
