This hands-on internship trains participants in hospitality leadership, event planning, inventory and financial management, staff coordination, and strategic planning.Ideal for those interested in general management, operations, event logistics, or bar/restaurant ownership, this program provides both tactical experience and strategic insight.________________________________________Training Goals• Train participants in day-to-day operations and high-level club management• Build leadership, delegation, and conflict resolution skills• Teach inventory, ordering, and COGS tracking• Coordinate events, morale initiatives, and promotional programs• Prepare for post-military employment in management or hospitality________________________________________Terminal Learning Objectives (TLOs)Participants will:• Open and close the facility, executing full shift checklists• Supervise bar and kitchen staff, providing coaching and quality assurance• Coordinate and run morale events, including logistics and team roles• Track and manage inventory levels, reordering thresholds, and supply deliveries• Understand and track COGS, sales reports, and margin improvement opportunities• Maintain and enforce customer service standards and safety compliance• Prepare staff schedules and assist with task delegation• Identify areas for improvement and present strategic recommendations to the Club Manager• Handle basic customer service conflict resolution• Execute a capstone project that improves some element of Hideaway operations________________________________________6-Month Weekly Training ScheduleWeek Focus Area Training Modules & Activities1 Orientation Meet team, review responsibilities, shadow Club Manager, learn safety and SOPs2 Operations 101 Learn POS system, shift procedures, cleaning schedules, open/close checklists3 Inventory Basics Learn ordering cycles, stock tracking, prep for inventory counts4 Customer Service Review and enforce standards, learn de-escalation techniques, staff coaching5 Events & Morale Ops Help plan and run at least one morale event (e.g., Shot Club, theme nights)6 Scheduling & Supervision Draft staff schedule, run briefings, lead tasking meetings7 Financial Literacy Intro to cost control, pricing strategies, revenue tracking, COGS reports8 Promotions & Marketing Coordinate with Social Media Manager; develop internal flyer or event idea9 Advanced Operations Deep dive into bar/kitchen logistics, equipment troubleshooting, and vendor relations10 Leadership Development Participate in performance feedback and disciplinary scenario training11 Strategic Planning Analyze operations for efficiency improvements and prepare recommendations12 Capstone Prep Identify an operational area to improve, pitch solution to Club Manager13 Capstone Execution Complete improvement task, participate in mock interviews, final evaluation14–24 Advanced Leadership & Operations Scale up responsibilities, lead multiple shifts, refine capstone projectScalability:• 2-Month Program: Focus on foundational modules (Weeks 1–8 condensed) and a simplified capstone project.• 3-Month Program: Original 12-week schedule maintained.• 6-Month Program: Expanded schedule with additional leadership development, strategic planning, and operational refinement.________________________________________Creative Final ProjectIn addition to the capstone project, all interns will complete a Creative Final Project to showcase their learning and creativity during the program. This project is designed to be a fun and engaging way to celebrate their time at The Hideaway Club.Project Description:Interns will create a unique concept or product inspired by their experience at The Hideaway Club. They will present their creation to the team during their final week. The project is not a requirement but is highly encouraged as a way to reflect on their learning and leave a personal mark on the program.Examples of Creative Final Projects:1. Signature Drink Creation: Develop a new cocktail or mocktail using inventory available at the club. Include a creative name, recipe, and marketing idea for promoting it.2. Event Concept: Design a morale event or theme night, complete with logistics, promotional materials, and execution plans.3. Menu Item: Create a new food item or special that aligns with the club’s offerings. Include pricing, cost analysis, and a marketing strategy.4. Operations Improvement Idea: Present a unique operational enhancement, such as a new workflow, inventory system, or customer service initiative.5. Promotional Campaign: Develop a social media or marketing campaign for the club, including graphics, slogans, and target audience strategies.Purpose:This project highlights the intern’s creativity, strategic thinking, and ability to apply what they’ve learned in a practical and fun way. It also serves as a token of their time spent with the team and fosters a sense of accomplishment.________________________________________Daily Responsibilities• Supervise staff during daily operations• Conduct shift meetings and task assignments• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and product quality• Assist with customer conflict resolution• Track inventory depletion and reorder needs• Help troubleshoot equipment or supply issues• Collaborate with Club Manager on operations________________________________________Supervision & Mentorship• Supervisor: Desiree Faumui• Weekly leadership check-ins• Midpoint and final performance reviews• Capstone mentorship and project coaching• Leadership and management journal tracking weekly goals and reflections________________________________________Compliance & Policy Integration• Learn MWR morale operation rules and resource limits• Ensure enforcement of ID check policy, food safety, and alcohol compliance• Participate in daily accountability, scheduling, and morale funding briefings________________________________________Assessment & Completion RequirementsTo successfully complete the program, the participant must:• Complete at least 720 hours of logged participation (scaled to 120 hours for 2-month program)• Lead at least 6 full bar/kitchen shifts (scaled to 3 shifts for 2-month program)• Plan and execute at least 2 morale events (scaled to 1 event for 2-month program)• Pass inventory and financial literacy check with supervisor• Complete and present one capstone improvement project• Submit final resume and participate in a mock interview• Score ≥ 80% on final supervisor evaluationInformal Exit Interview:At the conclusion of the program, participants will engage in an informal exit interview with the Club Manager.
