Workforce Solutions of Concho Valley and the Texas Veteran Leadership Program support the communities of 13 counties in the central Texas area and the Permian Basin. The purpose of WFS and TVLP is to assist in developing business and assisting job seekers. The student working with WFS/TVLP will learn many different aspects of what it takes to bring social services to the community. They will learn about local business development, local economy trends, networking with business and community partners such as the Small Business and Development Center, the Chamber of Commerce, and Colleges. They will learn how grant funding is acquired, distributed, and monitored. They will learn how to guide our team at Workforce Solutions on implementing government funded programs according to the guidelines of the Texas Workforce Commission and the Department of Labor. as well as the various state and federal Veteran benefits. They will use analytical skills, marketing, and soft skills. All preparing them for a job at WFS/TVLP, or with the state of Texas at the Texas Workforce Commission. If the student selects to work at WFS they will learn hands on case management, work directly with clients to assist them in finding the correct programing to better provide opportunities for better employment, they will learn resume writing, programs available to job seekers throughout the state, and working in a fast-paced team environment. This work is best suited for people that like change, like to develop processes, would like to learn more about social services, and taking care of the Veteran community.

ABOUT THE JOB

The intention of this program is to assist the candidate in gaining employment within the Workforce Solutions offices as management, case workers, talent engagement specialist or support staff and Veteran programs. If nothing is available or these are not something the candidate would like we would assist them in applying for one of the many jobs at the Texas Workforce Commission. Systems Analyst, Rehabilitation Assistant, Programmer, Payables Accountant, Senior team Lead, or one of the many other positions available. Jobs with Texas Workforce Commission are statewide and may require living in another city once hired.

RESPONSIBILITIES
