Located in Hamilton, Washington, this on-site is designed for transitioning service members looking to apply welding, mechanical, maintenance, or fabrication experience while working alongside skilled manufacturing professionals.
POSITION OVERVIEWThe Welder performs a variety of duties and utilizes multiple skillsets. Welders are required to follow detailed instructions and drawings carefully, have basic mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight and the ability to perform repetitive tasks. Technicians are primarily responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and fabrication of weldments, including cutting, grinding and finish welding operations.Relevant Military Backgrounds (Encouraged, But Not Limited To):Strong alignment with welding, fabrication, and metalworking experience:• Welding, fabrication, and repair of metal structures and equipment• Metal cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly operations• Blueprint reading, technical drawing interpretation, and precision measurement• Maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, vehicles, aircraft, or shipboard equipment• Structural steel, pipe, or equipment fabrication and installation• Depot-level maintenance, overhaul, and restoration activities• Quality inspections and adherence to technical specifications and safety standards• Manufacturing, production, or industrial maintenance rolesExamples of closely aligned military specialties:• Navy Hull Maintenance Technician (HT)• Navy Machinery Repairman (MR)• Marine Corps Metal Worker (1316)• Air Force Aircraft Metals Technology (2A7X1)• Army Allied Trades Specialist (91E)• Army Aircraft Powertrain Repairer (15D) and other maintenance MOSs with welding or fabrication experience• Coast Guard Machinery Technician (MK)POSITION DESCRIPTION • Attention to detail and quality is required.• Reads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders.• Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads.• Must be able to understand and comply with JI Safety Practices.• Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function.• Accurate use of precision measuring instruments and working to exacting tolerances• Knowledge and use of common hand tools and metal fabrication equipment.• Sets up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction.• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition. • Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities.• Performs on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required.• Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.• Performs other duties as assigned.THIS ROLE ALLOWS TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS TO• Translate military welding, fabrication, maintenance, or metalworking experience into the civilian manufacturing industry• Gain hands-on experience with advanced welding, fabrication, and metal finishing processes• Work on high-visibility aerospace, defense, space, and industrial programs• Build experience supporting AS9100-regulated manufacturing environments• Develop civilian-recognized technical, quality, and fabrication skills• Strengthen skills in blueprint reading, weld preparation, and production processesQUALIFICATIONS• SkillBridge eligibility is defined as a program for active-duty service members within 180 days of being discharged or released from active duty.• Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
