As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering quality patient care while utilizing advanced radiology equipment. You will be responsible for performing routine radiographs, including conventional, fluoroscopic, and portable exams, following physician directives and adhering to established radiographic protocols.
Patient Preparation & Care: Prepare patients for radiographic procedures, assist with positioning, and help lift patients onto/off the examination table. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process. X-Ray Technique & Imaging: Accurately position patients, use immobilization devices, and apply appropriate radiation shielding as needed. Select and apply proper technical factors for X-ray exams. Drug & Contrast Administration: Assist in the safe administration of medications and contrast agents as required. Film Processing & Data Entry: Process and develop radiographs. Accurately enter patient and imaging data into the Radiology Information System (MARS) for medical records, billing, and quality assurance. Student Guidance: Mentor and provide guidance to radiology students or interns, ensuring they gain hands-on experience and follow proper procedures. Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure that exam rooms are properly stocked with the necessary supplies for diagnostic procedures. Administrative Support: Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, relaying messages, and assisting with general office tasks. Equipment Care: Report any equipment malfunctions to supervisory personnel promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
Education: Must already have Associate’s degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning. Certification & Licensing: Completion of an ARRT-approved educational program. Must obtain ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and registration within 1 year of employment. Experience: Relevant work experience in radiology preferred, but not required. Other Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Professional demeanor and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
