Tempel Steel, a division of Worthington Steel, is looking for great teammates to join our Industrial Maintenance crew in our Chicago, IL facility. The service member will train alongside our existing team and learn how to maintain and ensure proper operation of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in a high paced production steel stamping environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance on mechanical presses, press line related equipment, conveyor systems, overhead cranes, and various production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with Safety procedures, rules, and regulations. Perform preventative maintenance tasks. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Works with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical equipment and engines.
RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical equipment, and engines.
- Skill in using tools such as hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Experience in maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Skillbridge participants would be limited to 40-hour work weeks. May be required to work an off shift once hired full time. Background check and drug screen are required.
