OverviewAs a BIM Drafting Technician Intern, you will support the design and documentation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial buildings using state‑of‑the‑art digital modeling tools. You will learn industry workflows, support real design projects, and gain the foundation needed for entry‑level BIM roles after your military service concludes.Primary Duties• Learn and apply KEDbluestone’s BIM and Revit standards, templates, and workflows• Complete guided BIM modeling exercises progressing to supervised project tasks• Assist with placement, annotation, and layout of MEP components in Revit• Help prepare construction documents, sheet sets, schedules, and coordinated views• Support markups, redlines, and revision tracking using Revit and Bluebeam• Receive instruction in MEP fundamentals (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)• Build a capstone drafting package demonstrating program competenciesTraining StructureThe program includes progressive learning phases, such as:• Revit fundamentals (Weeks 1–2)• BIM standards and collaboration workflows (Weeks 3–4)• Guided production tasks (Weeks 5–8)• MEP system fundamentals (Weeks 9–12)• Capstone drafting project or advanced coordination modules depending on program length (Weeks 13–26)
