Position: Intelligence Analyst - SECRET Level Security Clearance Required Overview of Operations: The Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) and the Northern California High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (NC HIDTA) operate in partnership to strengthen public safety across Northern California. NCRIC serves as a regional fusion center that collects, analyzes, and shares intelligence related to crime, terrorism, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other public safety threats, while NC HIDTA coordinates and supports multi-agency efforts to reduce drug trafficking, drug-related crime, and related financial and organized criminal activity. Together, they provide intelligence sharing, investigative support, training, interagency coordination, and threat-focused collaboration for law enforcement, public safety, public health, and private sector partners.
Examples of Duties:• Monitor threats and vulnerabilities with potential impact to local law enforcement and critical infrastructure partners• Produce timely intelligence products, threat assessments, and presentations on current and emerging risks• Provide analytical and investigative case support for drug trafficking, major crimes, violent crime, money laundering, gangs, and serial offenses• Conduct specialized analysis, including link analysis, call record analysis, geospatial analysis, and data management• Support emergency, planned, training, and cyber response operations through incident assistance and actionable intelligenceTraining Outcomes: • Turning concepts and principles into action• Articulating the impact of organizational design on the analytic process• Understanding of fusing intelligence and analytic tradecraft in a law enforcement or homeland security environment Qualifications/Ability to:• Knowledge of intelligence research, data collection, evaluation, and analysis methods• Proficiency in computer systems, including GIS mapping, word processing, data management, statistical analysis, and basic programming• Understanding of crime patterns, series, trends, and cyber incident prevention and response responsibilities• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and oral presentations for diverse audiences• Ability to synthesize large volumes of cyber, vulnerability, and criminal threat data and interpret maps and GIS information
