ABOUT THE JOB
Position SummarySaber Astronautics is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to identify new opportunities, build partnerships, and expand our presence in the defense, civil, and commercial space sectors. You will play a critical role in shaping our growth strategy by aligning customer needs with Saber’s suite of software products and mission services.________________________________________Key Responsibilities• Identify, qualify, and pursue business opportunities in space operations, AI/ML decision support, and SDA technologies.• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in the U.S. DoD, NASA, and commercial space industry.• Track government solicitations (e.g., SBIR/STTR, DIANA, SMC, AFRL, SDA, DAF R&D), and support proposal development with technical and operations teams.• Lead capture strategies and contribute to competitive analysis, pricing, and teaming decisions.• Represent Saber at conferences, industry days, and customer meetings.• Develop marketing materials and messaging to support outreach and customer engagement.• Collaborate with product managers to align offerings with market demands.• Maintain CRM systems and provide regular pipeline updates and forecasts to leadership.________________________________________Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, space studies, or related field.• 3+ years of experience in business development, capture management, or strategic partnerships—preferably in aerospace, defense, or advanced technology sectors.• Familiarity with U.S. and/or allied defense acquisition processes and government funding mechanisms.• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.• Ability to work across time zones and travel (up to 25%) for client engagement and events.________________________________________Preferred Qualifications• Existing network within the U.S. Space Force, SDA, NASA, or space primes (e.g., Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman).• Experience with AI/ML, autonomy, or mission operations software.• Prior experience with SBIR/STTR or international defense innovation programs (e.g., DIANA, AUKUS Pillar II).• Active or ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
