Additive Manufacturing Technician, seeking junior to senior level.
An Additive Manufacturing Technician operates and programs 3D printing equipment to build parts layer-by-layer from digital models, using materials like metals, polymers, or composites. They prepare CAD files for printing, select appropriate materials and print parameters, monitor build processes, and perform post-processing operations like heat treatment, machining, or surface finishing. In defense manufacturing, they focus on producing complex geometries that traditional machining can't achieve, creating rapid prototypes for testing, and manufacturing low-volume production parts that meet strict quality and material specifications. They must understand material properties, quality control procedures, and often work within AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards to ensure printed components meet required mechanical properties and dimensional tolerances.
Bachelor's preferred.
