Quality Engineer, seeking junior to mid-level.

ABOUT THE JOB

A Quality Engineer develops, implements, and maintains quality management systems and processes to ensure products and services meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. They design quality control procedures, conduct root cause analysis on defects, lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives, perform statistical process control, and drive continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and enhance product reliability. In AS9100-certified defense manufacturing like at Mettle Ops, they manage quality documentation systems, conduct internal audits, interface with customers on quality issues, develop inspection plans and procedures, and ensure compliance with aerospace and defense quality standards. They work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to implement design for manufacturability principles, qualify new processes, and maintain certifications required for government and commercial contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES✨

• Develops, implements, and maintains quality management systems and processes to ensure products and services meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Designs quality control procedures, conducts root cause analysis on defects, and leads corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
• Performs statistical process control, drives continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and enhance product reliability.
• Manages quality documentation systems, conducts internal audits, interfaces with customers on quality issues, develops inspection plans and procedures, and ensures compliance with aerospace and defense quality standards.
• Works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to implement design for manufacturability principles, qualify new processes, and maintain certifications required for government and commercial contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS✨

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in AS9100-certified defense manufacturing.
