The SkillBridge Recruiter Trainee participates in a structured 6-week training program and continued hands-on experience, with a total program length of up to 180 days, designed to prepare transitioning service members for a career in Talent Acquisition. Under direct supervision, the trainee supports recruiting operations including candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and applicant tracking system (ATS) management. This role provides hands-on exposure to full-cycle recruiting processes, while developing professional communication, organizational skills, and an understanding of compliance within a government contracting environment. The trainee works closely with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to support recruiting efforts while learning industry best practices. Program Orientation & Organizational Understanding• Learn company structure, departments, and business operations • Understand how recruiting supports HR, leadership, and contract staffing needs • Become familiar with recruiting workflows, tools, and expectationsCandidate Sourcing & Pipeline Development• Assist with identifying candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, and internal databases • Review resumes and support candidate qualification efforts • Draft candidate outreach messages under supervision • Maintain candidate activity and sourcing data within the ATSCandidate Screening & Interview Coordination• Conduct basic candidate screenings under supervision • Evaluate candidate qualifications against job requirements • Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates and hiring managers • Maintain professional communication with candidates and internal stakeholdersFull-Cycle Recruiting Exposure• Participate in recruiting workflows from job intake through interview stages • Support hiring managers with candidate tracking and follow-up communication • Assist with documenting candidate feedback and maintaining records • Gain understanding of hiring decision processes and workflow coordinationRecruiting Operations & Metrics• Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the ATS • Support job postings and recruitment outreach efforts • Learn key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline activity, etc.) • Assist with employer branding and candidate experience initiativesOffer Process & Onboarding Exposure• Learn the offer process and onboarding coordination procedures • Assist with documentation and scheduling related to hiring activities • Gain understanding of compliance requirements in recruiting and hiring • Participate in final evaluations and career readiness discussions
