The Logistics Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing the company's supply chain operations by analyzing data, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending improvements to ensure timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. This position is ideal for transitioning service members with military logistics experience, leveraging skills in inventory management, transportation coordination, and operational planning to support civilian sector demands. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance logistics processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency in a dynamic environment.
Collect, analyze, and interpret logistics data (e.g., inventory levels, shipping times, costs) to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor supply chain performance using tools like Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle), and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau). Support inventory management by forecasting demand, managing stock levels, and coordinating with suppliers and warehouses. Evaluate transportation routes, carriers, and modes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency while ensuring compliance with regulations (e.g., DOT, HAZMAT). Assist in process improvement initiatives, such as implementing lean methodologies or automating routine tasks. Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sales teams to align logistics strategies with business goals. Conduct risk assessments for supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans. Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements, including sustainability practices. Participate in audits, vendor evaluations, and continuous improvement projects.
