DoD SkillBridge Opportunity: Program ManagerLocation: [Dayton, Ohio]This SkillBridge opportunity is designed for transitioning service members seeking to apply their leadership, coordination, and strategic planning skills in a mission-driven civilian role. As a Program Manager, participants will oversee and organize key programs, aligning execution with organizational goals and client needs. This position provides hands-on experience in operational planning, resource management, and cross-team collaboration—leveraging existing military expertise while building civilian readiness.Ideal candidates have experience leading complex missions, managing dynamic priorities, and motivating diverse teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while gaining exposure to program management best practices and business operations in a federal contracting environment.

ABOUT THE JOB

Program Manager Specific Job Duties• Coordinate and oversee all program activities to meet contractual, operational, and organizational goals• Monitor and manage program budgets, deadlines, and performance metrics across multiple projects• Serve as the primary point of contact for client escalations and resolution of critical issues• Supervise and evaluate project managers and program staff to ensure compliance with project requirements• Formulate and track interrelated projects within broader program objectives• Apply change management, resource planning, and risk mitigation strategies to maintain program effectiveness• Conduct regular audits, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions to meet productivity and quality targets• Prepare and deliver detailed reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) to stakeholders and clients• Lead stakeholder meetings to assess program status and communicate progress• Maintain daily operational oversight, ensuring activities align with client deliverables and strategic goals• Assess financial performance and initiate measures to control costs and address budget variances• Organize and prioritize internal program activities to optimize workflow and resource utilization• Recommend and implement improvements based on assessments of program strengths, gaps, and ROI indicators• Develop sustainable program goals based on performance data and stakeholder feedback• Execute training initiatives and delegate responsibilities to ensure team readiness and alignment• Enforce customer service standards and internal policies to maintain delivery consistency and excellence

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Program or Multi Projects Manager
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Highly proficient in using MS Office Suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Proven ability to create, utilize, and manage various project management systems/tools (i.e., Basecamp, MS Project, etc.)
