CDL Class B Truck Driving Position

The Class B CDL Dump Truck Driver program is a structured transition program designed to prepare drivers, specifically veterans and experienced equipment operators, for Florida Class B CDL certification and safe dump truck operation in civilian construction environments. The program emphasizes translating prior experience into FMCSA and Florida DOT–compliant driving practices, while minimizing redundant instruction.Training focuses on:1. Civilian CDL knowledge alignment, including Florida-specific rules, DOT compliance expectations, and accident reporting requirements.2. Written exam preparation, targeting General Knowledge and Air Brakes (if applicable), using practice testing and focused instruction on civilian-only differences.3. Hands-on skills translation, covering CDL-standard pre-trip inspections, basic control skills, and road driving maneuvers consistent with the Florida CDL test.4. Professional safety culture, reinforcing accountability, communication, and compliance expectations specific to commercial trucking in active construction environments.By program completion, participants are expected to be fully test-ready for the Florida Class B CDL, demonstrate safe and professional dump truck operation on jobsites, and operate confidently within DOT regulatory requirements.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Class B CDL Dump Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, legal, and efficient operation of dump trucks transporting earthwork materials on active construction sites and public roadways. This role requires strict compliance with FMCSA regulations, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) standards, and company safety policies while supporting daily earthwork, hauling, and site logistics operations.Dump truck drivers are expected to operate professionally in dynamic jobsite environments, coordinate closely with field crews and supervisors, and maintain accountability for vehicle condition, load security, and regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES✨

• Safe, legal, and efficient operation of dump trucks transporting earthwork materials on active construction sites and public roadways.

QUALIFICATIONS✨

• Active and valid Military CDL for at least 3 years.
• Preparation for Florida Class B CDL certification.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must have had an active and valid Military CDL for at least 3 years.
