This opportunity is an internship as a project manager with Swan Song Properties, located in Hampstead, North Carolina. Swansong Properties is a family owned business that specializes in real estate and residential construction. The selected intern will work hands on and be trained by experienced professionals. The end goal of the program is to offer a position within the company to qualified individuals, or make work-related connections to allow for job acceptance from other companies in the same career field.
The project manager intern will understand both the administrative and field work associated with organizing a small real-estate/residential construction business. Ordering construction materials, bookkeeping, applying for permits, and complying with state laws will be learned responsibilities of the intern. The intern will get a chance to do walk-throughs of construction sites to gain an understanding of the residential construction process from start to finish as well as safety. Near the end of the training, the intern will have an opportunity to manage a low-level project to prove their knowledge to their supervisor.
Personnel management experience is preferred.Good communication skills are preferred.
The intern may be required to travel to neighboring counties for on-the-job training depending on the location of active construction zones at the time of the internship.
