Manufacturing/Production Technician, seeking junior to senior level.
A Manufacturing and Production Technician operates machinery and equipment to fabricate, assemble, and test components and products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality specifications. They set up and operate tools such as CNC machines, lathes, mills, presses, or specialized manufacturing equipment, perform in-process inspections, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain equipment to ensure consistent output and minimize downtime. In defense manufacturing, they must work within strict tolerances and quality standards like AS9100, maintain detailed production documentation and travelers for traceability, and often handle specialized materials or processes for aerospace and military applications. They collaborate with quality inspectors and engineers to identify process improvements, may perform first article inspections, and ensure all work meets contractual requirements including proper handling of government-furnished materials and adherence to manufacturing security protocols.
