The Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving equipment reliability by providing technical support and managing processes aimed at reducing business risks. This role involves maintaining key assets' reliability, optimizing work processes, and overseeing the site's critical asset register. Key responsibilities include:- Supporting the Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) through reports and improvement activities.- Ensuring reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, and safety systems.- Developing solutions to repetitive failures and reducing the likelihood of future issues.- Analyzing failure history to devise long-term solutions.- Enforcing an Asset Operations Plan for optimal asset utilization and maintenance.- Applying Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) and conducting root cause failure analysis.- Creating asset management plans, including preventative maintenance and testing methods.- Collaborating with Project Engineering on new equipment installations.- Defining risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks.- Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies like OSHA, FDA, and EPA.
Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience in maintenance, operations, logistics, or a related technical field—military or civilian. A background in equipment readiness, reliability, or team leadership is highly applicable. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical rating is preferred but not required. Experience in industries such as manufacturing, utilities, or healthcare is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important for success in this collaborative, cross-functional environment.
