In partnership with the University of Tennessee, we provide training, mentorship, and certification that equips veterans with the skills, confidence, and purpose needed to thrive after service. In partnership with the University of Tennessee’s Reliability & Maintainability Center (UTK-RMC), eligible participants will complete the Reliability & Maintainability Implementation Certification (RMIC)—a respected credential in the manufacturing sector. During the program, participants are paired with a host manufacturing site to apply what they’ve learned in real time by developing and executing a project focused on performance improvement, equipment reliability, or workforce systems.This program is delivered in a hybrid format, combining online training (including RMIC coursework, onboarding modules, and virtual mentorship) with in-person engagement at one of our partnered manufacturing sites. This structure provides flexibility while ensuring participants gain meaningful, hands-on experience and professional collaboration with real industry teams.This hands-on experience enhances civilian readiness while building a professional portfolio aligned with career goals in engineering, maintenance leadership, operations, or skilled trades.We welcome candidates with experience in engineering, maintenance, aviation support, logistics, and operations leadership. While specific military backgrounds such as MM, EM, ET, 91A, 12A, 88A, 152X, 613X, 21AX, 21MX, 32EX, 6002, 1302, ENG, LDO, 151A, 120A, 125D, 130A, 170B, 882A, 919A, and 948D align well with this opportunity, all motivated service members with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience in maintenance, operations, logistics, or a related technical field—military or civilian. A background in equipment readiness, reliability, or team leadership is highly applicable. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical rating is preferred but not required. Experience in industries such as manufacturing, utilities, or healthcare is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important for success in this collaborative, cross-functional environment.
