Littlefield Wellness, LLC offers a 12-week DOD SkillBridge Internship for prospective Mental Health Counselors and Social Workers, providing hands-on experience in counseling, case management, and administrative duties. This program is tailored for Master's level students or graduates, focusing on transitioning military personnel into civilian mental health roles through progressive responsibility and professional development. *** Prospective Intern must be either enrolled in, or a graduate of an accredited Master's Level educational program in Clinical Social Work or Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, prospective intern must physically be in the State of Massachusetts due to licensing and insurance requirements - this is not a remote opportunity.
ABOUT THE JOB
Mental Health Counselor Intern for a 12-week DOD SkillBridge Program. This internship is designed for graduates or current students in a Master's Level Mental Health program, offering a unique opportunity to transition from military to civilian mental health practice. The role begins with observing and learning our counseling methods, handling administrative tasks, and understanding the full spectrum of client care. As you progress, you will take on increasing responsibilities, from co-facilitating sessions to managing cases under supervision, culminating in taking prominent roles by the program's end. You will also receive training in ethics, documentation, insurance, billing, and crisis intervention, ensuring a comprehensive foundation in both clinical and administrative aspects of mental health counseling. This position not only prepares you for a career in mental health but also focuses on your professional development, including job-seeking strategies for your post-internship career.
