Aerospace manufacturing and system integration
The technician will learn things like how to cap and stow a wire, repair a break in a wire, tin a wire, place a floating shield, daisy chain shields, build up stress relief for a backshell, how to insert and remove a wire from a connector, crimping different gauges of wire to include the coaxes, continuity checks on the build, RF and VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) testing, string tying wires. The technician will be able to demonstrate basic understanding and proficiency of structural repair principals include drilling holes for rivets, countersinking, basic rivet pattern layout. Identify the rivet spacing, row spacing and edge distance. Installing with pneumatic riveter and bucking bars, rivet squeezers, and pop rivets. The technician will have a basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO9001 and AS9100 procedures and the required forms for documentation (records).
