To provide an intern with the skills required of a mechanic who will routinely work on Diesel Truck, Company Cars, Tractor Trailers, Forklifts and Pallet-Jacks. The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily service and maintenance of the company’s fleet vehicles and equipment (route delivery trucks, corporate cars, tractors, trailers, forklifts, pallet-jacks, etc.), to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles.

ABOUT THE JOB

Overview/Function: The Fleet Maintenance & Body Shop Technician will be based in Atlantic, Iowa and is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and completing repairs on all types of vehicles for the company to minimize vehicle downtime and to maximize fleet life. • Major Responsibilities:• Perform regular preventative maintenance (i.e. oil/lubrication, filters, battery, brake, transmission, coolant, tire rotations, etc.), unscheduled emergency repairs, and may include a variety of repair work including but not limited to engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, ignitions, air and exhaust systems, axle assemblies, and cosmetic features.• Quickly and effectively diagnose and troubleshoot routine and non-route problems.• Perform body work including, but not limited to, painting, dent and scrape repairs, and windshield repairs, etc.• Read and interpret equipment service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.• Use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring tools.• Follow all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area. Perform tasks safely and ensure safety of employee and others. • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for department.• Document all performed repairs and maintenance work.• Favorably represent the company and iconic Coca-Cola brand image, ensuring ethical conduct at all times.• Understand and follow all federal, state, local, and company regulations (such as the disposal of hazardous waste).• Work well with other technicians and staff. • Other duties as required.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring tools.
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.
  • Document all performed repairs and maintenance work.
  • Understand and follow all federal, state, local, and company regulations such as the disposal of hazardous waste.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to frequently lift components weighing approximately 110 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions and complete applicable training.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate vehicles equipped with manual and automatic transmission.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

Individuals who wish to participate in the Mechanic Internship must be able to frequently lift components weighing approximately 110 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. This position also requires the ability to read and follow instructions and complete applicable training. Good written and verbal communication skills are required. This position also requires the ability to operate vehicles equipped with manual and automatic transmission (we can assist with training if necessary). Because this position may require driving of a company owned vehicle, the applicant is subject to an assessment of the applicants MVR (Motor Vehicle Record). An applicant can have no more than three moving violations, or one major violation. This position may require occasional travel, a valid drivers license is required. Position will be located in Atlantic, Iowa
