An Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day business operations of a company or facility, ensuring efficient production, resource allocation, and workflow management to meet organizational goals. They manage manufacturing processes, supervise personnel across multiple departments, implement process improvements, and ensure operations comply with quality standards like AS9100, safety regulations, and contractual requirements. In defense manufacturing, they coordinate between engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver products on schedule while maintaining cost controls and meeting government contract specifications. They're responsible for capacity planning, equipment utilization, continuous improvement initiatives, and often serve as the key link between executive leadership and operational execution on the shop floor.
