Protocol Officers plan, organize, and coordinate protocol functions and activities such as official state visits, diplomatic ceremonies, and special events. Planning includes attention and adherence to protocol requirements (incl venue, catering, logistical needs, etc… )and precedence to ensure compliance with diplomatic protocols, standards and regulations. Manages and coordinates visits of DVs, including arranging transport, lodging, meetings and ceremonies/events; builds itinerary and ensures successful execution. Provide advice, guidance and proper protocol procedures to staff and stakeholders. Prepare and distribute event briefs and materials needed for event. Coordinate with staekholders to facilitate smooth execution of events. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on protocol standards, regulations and procedures. Oversee event logistics and manage potential protocol-related issues. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including diplomats and government officials. Ensure all official communication and correspondence adhere to protocol standards
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Protocol Officer, your main duty will be to facilitate communication and foster positive relationships between our organization and government bodies, international organizations, and other external parties. Responsibilities include coordinating diplomatic activities, overseeing travel arrangements, and organizing events.The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of diplomatic protocol, strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage and coordinate visits of Distinguished Visitors (DVs), including arranging transport, lodging, meetings, and ceremonies/events; build itinerary and ensure successful execution.
- Provide advice, guidance, and proper protocol procedures to staff and stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute event briefs and materials needed for events.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on protocol standards, regulations, and procedures.
