HVAC Service Technicians

The SkillBridge training at Trane is focused on the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to Commercial HVAC Technician job duties. This includes commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in a commercial environment. The Trane SkillBridge training includes engagement with the long-established Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG) for mentorship, networking, and work/life fulfillment.

ABOUT THE JOB
The on-the-job training schedule includes, but is not limited to activities pertaining to HVAC Service for the Commercial HVAC Americas Service Department. Trane Commercial HVAC Service Technician Interns work directly with an Area Service Manager, Team Leader, or Senior HVAC Technician at customer sites in and around the local area performing both scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests for a variety of commercial and industrial equipment. The training curriculum includes the following components as well as other learnings as opportunities present themselves in the scope of commercial HVAC service work. Introduction to Craft Skills (Basic safety, hand tools, power tools, construction drawings, communication skills, customer service skills, and material handling). Introduction to HVAC Theories (Trade mathematics, introduction to heating/cooling/air distribution, and basic piping practices). Refrigeration and Basic Components. Troubleshooting Techniques. HVAC Electrical Safety and Troubleshooting. Auxiliary Systems. Chilled Water System Service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform both scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests for a variety of commercial and industrial equipment.
- Work directly with an Area Service Manager, Team Leader, or Senior HVAC Technician at customer sites.
- Engage in activities pertaining to HVAC Service for the Commercial HVAC Americas Service Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with HVAC, Refrigeration, Power Generation, or complex mechanical systems.
- Knowledge development in Commercial HVAC Technician job duties including commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in a commercial environment.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Priority will be given to transitioning service members with applicable training and experience as it pertains to HVAC, Mechanical and other applicable skillsets.
