Position: Certified Surgical TechnologistJob Description:The Surgical Technologist provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under thesupervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in collaboration with the surgeon. The SurgicalTechnologist functions primarily in the scrub role and is responsible for selecting, preparing, andmaintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. The Surgical Technologist possessesknowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique and is able to adapt tounpredictable situations within the perioperative setting. The Surgical Technologist utilizesknowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation and technology asmember of the surgical team.Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:Graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program. Certification in SurgicalTechnology from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)required within one year of hire date and maintained thereafter.
