Investment Operations & Compliance
A specialized SkillBridge fellowship designed to train transitioning service members in hedge fund operations, regulatory compliance, and business development support. This accelerated 16-week program prepares fellows to immediately contribute to fund operations while building a career foundation in investment management operations. Fellows master the operational backbone of investment management, including fund administration, regulatory compliance, client relations, and business development support, emphasizing practical, immediately applicable skills.
ABOUT THE JOB
Fellows will complete a comprehensive 16-week curriculum covering:Phase 1 (Weeks 1-4): Investment Management Operations Foundation- Hedge fund structure and operations- Regulatory framework and compliance (SEC, CFTC, NFA)- Fund administration and NAV processesPhase 2 (Weeks 5-8): Client Relations & Business Development- Investor relations and professional communication- Marketing support and due diligence processes- KYC/AML procedures and client onboardingPhase 3 (Weeks 9-12): Advanced Operations & Risk Management- Operational risk management and business continuity- Financial reporting and analysis- Vendor management and cybersecurityPhase 4 (Weeks 13-16): Technology & Capstone Project- Investment management technology systems- Process optimization and project management- Real-world capstone project addressing operational challengesTarget Career Positions: Fund Operations Analyst, Compliance Associate, Client Relations Coordinator, Business Development Associate, Operations Coordinator, Regulatory Affairs Assistant.Upon completion, fellows receive a Certificate in Investment Operations & Compliance, preparation materials for FINRA SIE and Series 99 exams, professional recommendation letter, and direct employment opportunity based on performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete a comprehensive 16-week curriculum covering investment management operations, client relations, advanced operations, risk management, and technology.
- Master the operational backbone of investment management including fund administration, regulatory compliance, client relations, and business development support.
- Participate in a real-world capstone project addressing operational challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong organizational and communication skills required.
- Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy.
- Interest in financial services operations.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Basic computer proficiency and Microsoft Office Suite competency.
- Willingness to learn specialized software.
