The purpose of this SkillBridge internship is to provide active-duty service members with hands-on experience in maintenance and preservation work at a National Historical Park, aligning with the NPS mission to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources for future generations.
Interns will work within the SAAN Facilities Management team, learning trades skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and roofing, with an emphasis on historic structures. Objectives include developing practical skills for civilian employment, understanding federal park operations, and contributing to real park maintenance projects to enhance utility reliability, structural integrity, and grounds upkeep.
