Supports the photographers in the preparation, execution, and delivery of high-quality photographic services. This role involves hands-on assistance during photo sessions, equipment management, client interaction, and post-production support. The assistant ensures smooth operations before, during, and after shoots while maintaining a professional, organized, and positive environment for clients and team members.This position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, physical stamina, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments, particularly during live events, sports competitions, and on-location shoots.
The Photography Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the photographers and ensuring the smooth operation of photo sessions and events. This position assists with equipment handling, client coordination, setup and breakdown of photo areas, and post-production tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, energetic, and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-energy environments and comfortable having conversations with clients.Key Responsibilities:Pre-Event & Setup • Assist with transporting, setting up, and breaking down photography equipment and backdrops • Prepare cameras, lighting, props, and accessories prior to shoots • Ensure all equipment is clean, organized, and functioning properly • Assist with location preparation and crowd flow managementDuring Shoots & Events • Support the lead photographer during sessions and events • Manage crowds and coordinate individuals for photos • Maintain an organized shooting area and assist with posing, spacing, and positioning • Monitor equipment throughout sessions and handle minor troubleshooting • Provide excellent customer service to clients and staffPost-Event & Studio Support • Assist with file management, labeling, and organization of photos • Help with basic photo editing, uploads, and print preparation • Maintain studio organization and inventory of equipment and supplies • Assist with packing and delivery of products when needed⸻Qualifications • Military equivalent MOS/NEC • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Reliable transportation and punctuality • Ability to lift and carry photography equipment (up to 50 lbs) • Comfortable working outdoors and on feet for extended periods • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules • Basic computer skills; familiarity with photography software a plus⸻Preferred Skills • Experience with photography or media production • Knowledge of conference and event coordination • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability⸻Work Environment • Fast-paced, energetic settings including gyms, fields, schools, and event venues • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting • Exposure to varying weather conditions for outdoor events⸻Growth • Upon program completion, competitive hourly pay based on experience • Opportunity for training, skill development, and advancement within the company • Flexible scheduling around school and family commitments
