UMC Human Resources - Labor & Employee Relations Analyst
Labor and Employee Relations Analyst: Support positive labor/management relations by advising on employee issues, ensuring contract compliance, and representing management in meetings. Maintain personnel records, conduct investigations, handle grievances, and assist with disciplinary actions. Prepare reports, support negotiations, and provide training in employee and labor relations.
ABOUT THE JOB
Coordinates employee and labor relations across the hospital; interprets policies and union contracts; supports labor negotiations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary actions; advises departments on HR matters; and represents HR with internal and external stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support positive labor/management relations by advising on employee issues, ensuring contract compliance, and representing management in meetings.
- Maintain personnel records, conduct investigations, handle grievances, and assist with disciplinary actions.
- Prepare reports, support negotiations, and provide training in employee and labor relations.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) or two years of professional level work experience in employee/labor relations.
- Field of Study: Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
- Requires knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, CBAs, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Must understand compliance, employment law, and basic data analysis.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Must interpret policies, manage complex cases with discretion, and adapt to challenges.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively, provide guidance, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) Or Two years of professional level work experience in employee/labor relations. Field of Study (if applicable): Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.Requires knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, CBAs, investigations, and conflict resolution.
