EBF Veteran Advocate Representative Training and Intern Program
The EBF Veteran Advocate Representative Training and Intern Program is a structured initiative designed to equip transitioning service members with the skills, knowledge, and certifications needed to thrive in careers as EBF Representatives or related fields. Through a hybrid learning model that combines on-the-job training, live instruction, and self-paced study, participants gain expertise in veteran advocacy, administrative processes, case management, and client engagement. The program aligns with industry demands, ensuring that program participants not only meet employer expectations but also have the capabilities to seek out industry-recognized certifications that enhance their employability. Additionally, the program adheres to the Department of Defense’s (DoD) SkillBridge requirements, providing a structured pathway for service members to transition seamlessly into civilian roles. With a competitive selection process admitting 3-5 participants per quarter, the program ensures personalized mentorship, career coaching, and job placement support, fostering high success rates for participants. Beyond EBF Representative roles, the program develops transferable skills applicable to careers in social services, human resources, compliance, public relations, and administrative leadership. Participants engage in a rigorous learning experience that includes real-world claim processing, mentorship, and career-readiness assessments to prepare them for meaningful employment. The program operates on a rolling cohort model, accommodating service members for durations ranging from 30 to 180 days to maintain steady training throughput. Emphasizing compliance, professional conduct, and career preparedness, this initiative positions participants for long-term success in veteran services or alternative career pathways.
ABOUT THE JOB
EBF’s training and Intern program is designed to equip participants with versatile skills and competencies that extend beyond the role of an EBF Veteran Advocate Representative. While the program provides in-depth on the job training of veteran benefits advocacy, talent acquisition, and case management, it also emphasizes key professional skills such as client services, administrative management, compliance, policy interpretation, and public relations. These transferable competencies ensure that participants are well-prepared for a broad range of career opportunities beyond the EBF Representative role. Starting salary range for these positions range from $51.6K to $70K annually (Lightcast, 2025)Participants in this program will develop strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with expertise in government regulations, benefits administration, and community outreach.
