SCWF seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist in coordinating the Milkweed for Monarchs program, along with planning additional education and outreach regarding habitats in SC. This short-term position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of wildlife conservation while working for a community-based non-profit organization. Most work will be done at our downtown Columbia headquarters, with potential for some remote work if personal computer is available.
Responsibilities: Assist in coordination of the Monarchs & Milkweed program – oversee volunteers and assist with assembly and mailing of 5,000+ packets of native milkweed seed to provide habitat for migrating monarch butterfliesAssist in the planning and coordination of outreach/education programs including logistics, organization, marketing, registrations, volunteers, and customer serviceEnter program participant data into Customer Relationship Management softwareParticipate in outreach and educational events and partner meetings (when available)Build appropriate interpersonal relationships with employees, peers, and donorsSupport all staff in clerical tasks and errands as requested
