Manager Core Training
The Vestas Manager Core Training program provides an education on the rapidly growing wind industry. Participants will learn wind turbine operation and maintenance, safety, wind park operation, finance, budgeting, and customer relations. The curriculum will consist of 3 weeks of formal classroom safety training + 4 weeks of formal manager core training in Portland, OR. combined with OJT on an operating wind park.
ABOUT THE JOB
As Site Operations Manager for Vestas you’ll use your skills and experience to supervise and develop teams that model Vestas values and produce high-level results against key performance indicators and operational goals. Key accountabilities include safety leadership, operational fluidity/achievement, and financial performance. You will be engaged in technical problem solving, handling the site budget, promoting operational efficiency, and coordinating customer accounts and service contracts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and develop teams that model Vestas values and produce high-level results against key performance indicators and operational goals.
- Ensure safety leadership, operational fluidity/achievement, and financial performance.
- Engage in technical problem solving.
- Handle the site budget.
- Promote operational efficiency.
- Coordinate customer accounts and service contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed.
- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight.
- Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs including LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
- Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled descent practical exercises.
- Total weight of required PPE and gear shall weigh 300 lbs or less while being worn.
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to, but not more than 50 lbs. in weight. Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space. Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises. Due to safety parameters of fall protection equipment, the total weight of required PPE and gear shall weigh 300 lbs or less while being worn. Required PPE and gear can weigh up to 40 lbs. Clean driving record and valid drivers license.
