As an intern Senior Program Manager within Federal Health Services, you will play a key role in driving complex programs and strategic initiatives from planning to execution. Working alongside You’ll manage budgets and financial performance, oversee multi-project operations, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Your responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, optimizing processes for efficiency, mitigating risks, and maintaining high-quality standards. You’ll act as a liaison between executives, vendors, and stakeholders, support continuous improvement efforts, and contribute to organizational growth through strategic planning and operational excellence.
• Introduction to the Maximus Organization: Understand the company history and values, current and future clients, lines of business, service and solution capabilities, functional lanes, and points of contact to support Federal Contracts Operations. Module delivery by online eLearning and shadowing Program Management teams.• Introduction to Program Management at Maximus: Identify and evaluate points of contact, systems, workflow processes, service and solution capabilities to support program/project mission at Maximus. Module delivery by online eLearning and shadowing Program Management teams.• Program & Project Management: Identify and review core principles of program and project management, including PMI methodology, project lifecycle, and key roles/responsibilities as applied to Maximus project/program. Module delivery by shadowing Program Management teams, On-the-Job Practice.• Financial Management: Identify and evaluate project financial management as applied to Maximus project/program. Module delivery by shadowing Program Management teams, On-the-Job Practice.• Planning & Resource Management: Create project work plans, identify resources, assign responsibilities, and maintain master resource plans. Module delivery by shadowing Program Management teams, On-the-Job Practice.• Risk, Quantify, and Communication: Evaluate and create risk management strategies, quality assurance practices, and effective communication techniques. Module delivery by shadowing Program Management teams, On-the-Job Practice.• Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Understand vendor relationships, performance monitoring, and the drafting of contracts and SOWs. Review SLA tracking, change requests.
