We are seeking a Business Development Intern through the DoW SkillBridge program to support growth in Department of War (DoW) and Special Operations Forces (SOF) markets, with a particular focus on logistics, sustainment, and readiness solutions. This role is designed for current SOF logistics professionals—officers, NCOs, and warrant officers supporting SOF units or HQs—who want to translate their operational logistics, sustainment, and supply chain experience into civilian business development and capture roles serving DoW and SOCOM customers.You will work alongside experienced BD and capture leaders to turn your understanding of SOF logistics requirements, operational constraints, and readiness drivers into market insights, qualified opportunities, and well shaped pursuits.
During this SkillBridge internship, you will:• Conduct market and account research on DoW and SOCOM organizations, with emphasis on logistics, sustainment, supply chain, and readiness portfolios.• Help develop account plans for SOF and logistics focused customers, identifying key stakeholders (G 4/J 4, sustainment brigades, program offices), current programs, and future capability gaps.• Identify and qualify opportunities in SAM.gov and other sources that align with SOF logistics, mobility, supply chain, maintenance, and support services.• Support planning and execution of customer engagements and industry events (e.g., logistics forums, sustainment working groups), including prep materials, talking points, notes, and follow up.• Assist with capture activities for logistics/sustainment opportunities by documenting customer needs, operational pain points, competitors, partners, and initial win themes.• Contribute to capability statements, RFIs, and short white papers focused on logistics, sustainment, and support solutions for SOF and other DoW customers.• Help maintain and analyze a BD pipeline, including logistics oriented pursuits, and prepare internal summaries and briefings for leadership.• Participate in training on ethics and compliance for federal BD (procurement integrity, handling of sensitive information, and appropriate interactions with government personnel).
Basic Qualifications• Currently serving on active duty and eligible to participate in the DoW SkillBridge program; command approval required prior to start.• Recent or current experience in logistics, sustainment, distribution, mobility, or supply roles (e.g., logistics officer, logistics readiness officer, sustainment or support NCO, J 4/G 4 staff, SOF logistics staff).• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and basic collaboration tools.• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and operate in a fast paced, team oriented environment.Preferred Experience & Skills• Direct experience supporting SOF units, TSOCs, or SOF aligned sustainment/LOG organizations (e.g., USASOC, USSOCOM staff, sustainment brigades supporting SOF).• Familiarity with DoW or SOCOM acquisition and requirements processes, particularly for logistics and sustainment capabilities.• Exposure to vendor engagements, working with contractors, or participating in capability briefs, industry days, or requirements development.• Interest in or exposure to business development, capture, sales, or proposal development.Interested service members should:1.
