This SkillBridge internship provides hands-on experience in DoD aviation logistics, sustainment planning, and program closeout activities at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, MD.The intern will work alongside experienced logistics and program management professionals, gaining valuable insight into Naval Aviation program lifecycle management, divestiture strategy, and transition planning.

ABOUT THE JOB

About the Role:Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology is seeking a transitioning service member to train and support PMA-257 in its efforts to sundown the AV-8B Harrier program. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Train, provide OJT and assist in logistics planning and execution for the AV-8B Harrier program’s sundown phase
• Support the inventory management, asset disposition, and sustainment strategy
• Coordinate with NAVSUP, DLA, and fleet support teams to ensure efficient material handling and distribution
• Assist in technical data archiving, contract closeout support, and legacy system phase-out
• Contribute to Sundown Plan development and implementation, including tracking milestones

QUALIFICATIONS

• Background in aviation maintenance, logistics, or supply chain management
• Experience working with Naval Aviation logistics systems (e.g., NALCOMIS, DPAS, R-Supply, FEDLOG, etc.)
• Familiarity with DoD supply chain policies, processes, and equipment disposition
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Active-duty service member approved for DoD SkillBridge participation
• Ability to work on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD
• Must be within 180 days of separation/retirement from military service
