In this 12-week program, students will learn to draw blood specimens from patients for the purpose of testing and analysis. The first six weeks consists of lectures and labs, during which students will practice procedures prior to attending clinical training. The second six weeks, students will attend a clinical rotation at a local medical facility. There will also be homework assignments delivered online. Access to a computer and the Internet and the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is essential. The total course hours are 257.
Our program is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Upon successful completion of the Phlebotomy course, students will be eligible to take the ASCP National Phlebotomy Certification examination.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Reading comprehension test or college transcripts showing successful completion of college level English. AHA BLS Provider CPR card.
