The Workday Sales Development Representative (SDR) SkillBridge program provides transitioning service members with hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing sales environment. Fellows will learn how to prospect and engage potential customers, qualify opportunities, and partner closely with Account Executives while developing transferable skills in communication, relationship building, and business operations. This full‑time, onsite program is based at Workday’s Atlanta office (3350 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309) and is designed to prepare participants for post‑military careers in sales, business development, and other client‑facing roles.
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) SkillBridge fellow will be part of Workday’s sales organization, helping drive pipeline growth for our cloud solutions. In this role, you will learn and apply modern sales development practices while working closely with experienced SDRs, Account Executives, and Marketing.You will research target accounts, identify and engage key contacts, and conduct introductory conversations to understand business needs and gauge interest in Workday. You will be responsible for creating qualified meetings and opportunities that align with defined criteria, while documenting all activity in our CRM and partnering with the broader team to meet goals.This fellowship is designed to give transitioning service members meaningful, real‑world experience in a customer‑facing commercial role and to build skills that translate into careers in sales, business development, account management, and related fields.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, and social channels to generate interest in Workday solutionsRespond to and qualify inbound inquiries from marketing campaigns and eventsResearch target accounts and contacts to personalize outreach and identify potential business needsHold initial discovery conversations to understand a prospect’s challenges, timelines, and fit with Workday offeringsSchedule qualified meetings and demos for Account Executives and ensure smooth handoff of opportunitiesMaintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all activities, contacts, and opportunities in the CRM systemCollaborate with Sales, Marketing, and SDR leadership on territory plans, campaigns, and best practicesParticipate in ongoing product, sales methodology, and professional development trainingRepresent Workday’s values and maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactionsRequired Qualifications / SkillsCurrently serving on active duty and eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program during the fellowship datesStrong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable speaking on the phone and via video with new contactsDemonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholdersHigh level of organization, time management, and attention to detailAbility to work in a goal‑driven environment with activity and performance metricsDesire to learn about enterprise software, business processes, and sales best practicesProficiency with basic office productivity tools (e.g., email, calendar, spreadsheets); willingness to learn CRM and sales toolsPreferred Background (not required)Experience in roles such as recruiting, career counseling, logistics, operations, training, public affairs, or other highly client‑facing positionsExperience briefing senior leaders, coordinating across teams, or working against clear quantitative goals or quotasWork Location RequirementThis SkillBridge fellowship is onsite only and will be performed at the Workday Atlanta office:3350 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.Participants must be able to commute to and work from this location for the duration of the program. Open to active‑duty service members within 180 days of separation, eligible and command‑approved for DoD SkillBridge, available full‑time for the duration of the fellowship, able to work onsite at Workday Atlanta (3350 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309), and willing to complete all required Workday onboarding materials and training.
