MUSC Health Facilities / Maintenance - Job Training Program

The Electrician Internship is designed for candidates with previous training and experience in the career field and provides supplement training and required hours to practice in the private sector. This program is divided into four segments as follows: 1) Orientation & Introduction to Electrical Operations; 2) Core Maintenance Skills Development; 3) Specialized Training in Advanced Systems; and 4) Summary, Evaluation and Career Path Discussion.

ABOUT THE JOB

The electrician monitors, maintains, adjusts, and repairs electrical distribution systems owned or leased by the Medical University of South Carolina in order to ensure safety and reliability of emergency and normal power electrical systems. This role requires a working knowledge of all electrical systems including, but not limited to, Generators, ATS, MCC, Drives, Motors, Distribution Center, and Distribution Panels. Incumbent is Considered Essential Personnel in a disaster.

RESPONSIBILITIES✨

• Monitors, maintains, adjusts, and repairs electrical distribution systems owned or leased by MUSC
• Ensures safety and reliability of emergency and normal power electrical systems
• Requires working knowledge of all electrical systems including Generators, ATS, MCC, Drives, Motors, Distribution Center, and Distribution Panels

The primary location for this internship is in Charleston, SC, but training opportunities may be available at any MUSC Health facility in South Carolina.
