This SkillBridge position provides hands-on training for transitioning service members pursuing a career in residential home inspection. Participants will receive structured instruction, field shadowing, supervised inspections, and report-writing experience under licensed home inspectors. The program prepares participants for entry-level home inspector roles, state licensing requirements, and industry certification exams.
The Home Inspector Trainee participates in a structured training program designed to develop technical and professional skills in residential property inspections. Duties include observing and assisting licensed inspectors, evaluating home systems and components, learning proper use of inspection tools and software, identifying defects and safety concerns, and preparing inspection reports. Training progresses from observation to supervised and independent inspections with review.
Must be approved for participation in the DoD SkillBridge program. Must be able to perform field work including climbing ladders, accessing attics and crawlspaces, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions. Must maintain professional conduct and follow safety procedures.
