NAWCAD Lakehurst Electrical Engineers play a vital role in designing, assessing, and inspecting electrical systems and equipment within the Support Equipment (SE) and Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) groups. Our Engineers investigate and resolve problems and conditions in electrical systems and equipment impacting cost, efficiency, safety, and performance.
ABOUT THE JOB
In support of Naval Aviation, NAWCAD LKE Electrical Engineers (EEs) manage and coordinate the research, design, development, testing, procurement, modification, and repair of electrical and electronics equipment. Their expertise includes, but is not limited to, advancement and defense of the following: avionic systems, radar, data systems, electronic warfare devices, and electronic components of missile weapons systems. They are responsible for thinking of new ways to optimize existing systems, create new ones, and implement their ideas with a focus on improving supportability and maintainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and coordinate the research, design, development, testing, procurement, modification, and repair of electrical and electronics equipment.
- Focus on avionic systems, radar, data systems, electronic warfare devices, and electronic components of missile weapons systems.
- Optimize existing systems, create new ones, and implement ideas with a focus on improving supportability and maintainability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Electrical Engineering degree is required.
- Background in electrical engineering.

We are looking for someone with an electrical engineering background who we can provide introductory training and development. Upon successful completion, the candidate could compete and be selected for full time employment in an entry level development program 2-3 years in length. Positions start at the GS-07 and are eligible for career ladder advancement to full performance at the GS-12 level. No relocation will be paid.
