We are seeking a motivated and skilled Onshore Industrial Mechanic / Millwright to join our team at Altrad Sparrows. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, particularly those transitioning from military service. As an Industrial Millwright, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:Installation & Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial machinery in plants and manufacturing facilities. Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with engines, conveyors, electrical systems, and pneumatic/hydraulic equipment using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Quickly resolve problems to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.Inspection & Measurement: Inspect parts for dimensional changes using precision tools (calipers, micrometers). Ensure components meet manufacturer specifications to maintain system integrity.Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety protocols using CMMS systems. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Collaboration: Work with facility managers to update processes and attend daily shift meetings to minimize downtime.
Training OutcomesThis opportunity offers transitioning service members a structured pathway into a high-demand technical field. With mentorship from seasoned professionals and exposure to real-world projects, participants gain the confidence and skills needed to launch a successful civilian career in industrial maintenance and field service.By the end of the 25-week training program, the trainee will be fully equipped with the technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and safety awareness required to perform the duties of an Overhead Crane Mechanic with minimal direction and effectively. The desired outcome is for each trainee to:• Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes, including hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems• Apply safety protocols consistently in all work environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies• Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using company systems and procedures• Collaborate effectively with lead technicians and clients in the field, showing initiative and professionalism• Exhibit continuous improvement through regular performance assessments and feedback, with the ability to identify areas for further development• Transition into a full-time field role with minimal supervision, contributing to operational efficiency and client satisfaction
