The Cybersecurity Assessor (CCA) SkillBridge position provides transitioning service members with hands-on training and real-world experience supporting CMMC Level 2 consulting and assessment activities within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). Participants will learn to evaluate NIST SP 800-171 security controls, review documentation and evidence, conduct interviews, and assist in assessment execution under the guidance of experienced assessors. This program combines structured instruction with practical application, preparing participants for roles in cybersecurity compliance, risk assessment, and CMMC certification support.
Upon completion of the program, participants are prepared for roles such as Certified CMMC Professional (CCP), Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA), and Lead Certified CMMC Assessor (LCCA). In these roles, individuals support or lead cybersecurity assessments for organizations within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), evaluating compliance with CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 requirements.Responsibilities include reviewing system security documentation, validating implementation of security controls, conducting interviews, collecting and assessing objective evidence, and documenting findings. At the Lead CCA level, individuals oversee assessment execution, ensure adherence to assessment methodology, lead assessment teams, and are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assessment results and reporting.
MUST HAVE: At least 90 days before the start of Skill Bridge. 10 plus years of Military Service. *May accept a 5 year+ service if experience is superior and Skill Bridge does not start for at least 6 months.3 years Cybersecurity experience/1 yr audit/assessment experience, 1 active baseline cert. BS Degree or: CGRC/CAP or CASP+ or Cloud+ or PenTest+ or Security+ or GSEC.This is a 150-180 day program. If your SB is less than that you may be considered with a combination of SB and Terminal Leave.
