SG Computers offers a 90-day SkillBridge Service Desk Level 1 internship & training program designed to prepare military participants for civilian IT careers by equipping them with the skills to operate in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment and deliver professional customer support.
This is a structured 90-day training phases: The program follows a crawl-walk-run model with phases covering MSP foundations, IT fundamentals, Level 1 service desk skills, SG toolstack operations, and culminating in independent service desk work and validation. Each phase includes objectives, hands-on activities, and exit criteria to measure progress. • Core role and expectations: Level 1 Service Desk Engineers serve as first contact for customers, resolving common issues, documenting interactions, escalating appropriately, and maintaining ticket ownership without guessing or abandoning tasks. Professionalism, punctuality, clear communication, and adherence to process are emphasized. • Technical and operational skills development: Trainees learn IT basics including hardware, operating systems, networking, identity and access management, as well as SG Computers’ specific tools such as PSA ticketing, knowledge bases, and RMM diagnostics. They gain experience handling common Level 1 issues like password resets, email problems, and VPN connectivity.
