The Fire Alarm Technician Internship is designed for candidates with previous training in this speciality seeking employment in the private sector. The program is divided into four segments as follows: 1) Orientation & Introduction to Fire Alarm Operations; 2) Core Maintenance Skills Development; 3) Specialized Training in Advanced Systems; and 4) Summary, Evaluation and Career Path Discussion.
The Fire Alarm Technician will monitor, maintain adjust, and repair building Fire Alarm systems owned or leased by the Medical University Hospital Authority in order to ensure safety, environmental control and economy of these systems. Scheduling of outages, impairments, and proper record keeping of DHEC and JCAHO documentation are also required. The Fire Alarm Technician will take call on a rotating basis. Considered Essential Personnel in a disaster situation.
