Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific Amphibious Communications Support Internship
intern will serve as a Communications Systems Technician within the Amphibious Communications (AMCOMMS) team at NIWC Pacific. This position offers a unique hands-on training opportunity in a lab-based environment supporting U.S. Marine Corps communications systems aboard Amphibious Class ships (LSDs, LPDs, LHDs/LHAs).
ABOUT THE JOB
The intern will work closely with technicians to test, validate, and support shipboard tactical communications systems, gaining exposure to Pre-Installation Test Check Out (PITCO), Pre-Installation Check Out (PICO), and System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) procedures. Interns will also assist in troubleshooting communication systems, building and testing cables, programming radios, and supporting system configurations in the lab environment.This role is ideal for transitioning service members with a communications and electronics maintenance background who seek to bridge military experience into a civilian defense technology role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
