ATDM is a training program designed to help adult learners gain the skills necessary to make an immediate impact in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), specifically the Submarine Industrial Base (SIB). ATDM was created to teach the skills needed for increasing military equipment production. Students choose one 600-hour program from either welding, CNC machining, non-destructive testing, additive manufacturing, or quality control inspection/metrology. Job placement services are a part of the program. All skill sets were identified by the Navy as a critical need for the maritime workforce.
Depending on the track chosen, graduates are eligible for (1) additive manufacturing operator with intermediate-level skill sets; (2) CNC machining operator; (3) metrology technician/quality control inspector; (4) entry level welder, and (5) non-destructive testing technician.
